The city of Jerez de la Frontera will commemorate International Book Day with a diverse cultural program spanning from April 14 to 26, 2026, involving various institutions and emblematic venues.

The program, presented by the delegate of Culture, Francisco Zurita, alongside the delegates of Education and Citizen Participation, Nela García and Carmen Pina, at the Agustín Muñoz Municipal Library, highlights the collaboration between the City Council and the local cultural fabric. Activities will commence on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 PM, at the Palacio Riquelme, with the presentation of the book Una rosa cantaora, biografía de Ana María La Jerezana, by Francisco Rodríguez Pereira. On Wednesday, April 15, the Claustros de Santo Domingo will host the III Gala for the 'Nesa Lubart' Children's Literary Contest awards. Continuing with a social focus, on Friday, April 17, the La Marquesa Residence will feature a storytelling session for seniors by the Hypatia Association.
Music will also take center stage on Saturday, April 18, with the Municipal Band's Spring Concert in the Claustros, and a lute recital by Evangelina Mascardi as part of the XIII Jerez Early Music Cycle. The program will extend to Monday, April 20, with 'Literary Constellations' at the Caballero Bonald Foundation, and on Tuesday, April 21, with the inauguration of the collective exhibition VICEVERSOS at the Palacio de Riquelme.
Thursday, April 23, the central day of the celebration, will include a public reading of Don Quixote at Riquelme, oral narration sessions with 'Will el Cuentacuentos', the 'Book of Your Life' award ceremony by the Ateneo Siglo XXI at the Palacio de Villapanés, and an initiative by the Ateneo de Jerez to donate books and discuss the future of public libraries.
The cycle will conclude on Friday, April 24, with a 'Tribute to the Book' at the Agustín Muñoz Library and the performance of the play 3 Locos, 2 Enamorados, 1 Boda, 1 Funeral… y Ramsés at the Sala Compañía. On Saturday, April 25, Calle Larga will host the 'Literature and Wine Day', featuring bookstores, publishers, and wineries.
