Following the conclusion of Holy Week, the city of Jerez de la Frontera prepares for a moment of reflection with the transfer of the floats of the Brotherhood of Buena Muerte. This event, scheduled for Monday, April 6, 2026, symbolizes the return of the images to their brotherhood house after the days of penance experienced in the Santiago neighborhood.
The event will begin promptly at 8:30 PM at the Parroquia de Santiago, where faithful and devotees will gather to witness this ritual. Lasting approximately one hour, concluding at 9:30 PM, the act offers a deeply spiritual experience, allowing attendees to extend their Holy Week experience in an atmosphere of serenity.
Silence will be the dominant note during the sixty minutes the procession is on the street. It is a unique opportunity to bid farewell to the majesty of the brotherhood in a more intimate and unhurried format, far from the large crowds of past days.
The procession will pass through significant enclaves in the center of Jerez, displaying the images for the last time on the street before their final repose. The itinerary, designed to be direct yet full of symbolism, includes departure from the Parroquia de Santiago, passage through Angostillo, Calle Merced, Plaza de Santiago, return to Angostillo Stmo. Cristo de la Buena Muerte, Calle Nueva, and the final entry into the Casa Hermandad.
Due to the narrowness of some streets, such as the emblematic Calle Nueva, attendees are advised to arrive early to secure a good spot and fully enjoy this epilogue to Jerez's Holy Week.
