The province of Cádiz is preparing to honor its rich gastronomic scene with the 2026 edition of the GURMÉ Cádiz Awards. These accolades, aimed at highlighting the work of bars, restaurants, and professionals, have revealed the list of establishments aspiring to triumph in various categories.
Following a selection process that included proposals and candidacies, the finalists have been distributed into categories ranging from traditional cuisine to the most creative and innovative proposals. Awards will also be given for the best recent openings, beachfront establishments, traditional Gaditan ventas, and service staff.
The awards feature Cruzcampo as a strategic partner, along with support from Royal Bliss, Diputación de Cádiz, Lexus Jerez de la Frontera, Petaca Chico, Quesería El Gazul, Montesierra, and Grupo Viñafiel. The professional jury will soon convene to deliberate and announce the winners, whose verdict will be published on GURMÉ Cádiz before the official ceremony.
In the Best Traditional Cuisine Restaurant category, establishments such as Restaurante El Guadarnés, L'Aspilla, Taberna Bajo Muelle, La Fontanilla, Hermanos Carrasco, Restaurante Taberna El Cancha, and Taberna Tía Juana are competing, representing the flavors and recipes of yesteryear.
Creative cuisine will be represented by Martié, Lú Cocina y Alma, Mare, Síntesis, Código de Barra, Ghoa, and Alevante, highlighting innovation and the reinterpretation of local products.
For the Best Informal Bar or Restaurant recognition, the nominees are Ultramarinos El Calvo, Bar Bulova, Marino Vinos y Delicatessen, La Gloria, Taberna Bodeguita Mi Pueblo, La Gamba Frita, and Mesón Las Duelas, valuing ambiance and well-executed simple cuisine.
The traditional Gaditan ventas, key to the province's gastronomic identity, have finalists including Venta Los Alamillos, Venta El Cortijo, Venta El Cantarero, Salinas de Chiclana, Venta El Algarrobo, Venta El Soldao, and Mesón Rústico Machín.
In the Best Opening category, new projects that have made a strong impact are Martié, Doña Frasquita, Raíces, Calachica, Ghoa, La Brasa, and Dalmar.
Establishments beachfront with Atlantic views and seafood cuisine include Clandestino, Bebo Los Vientos, Sea Soul by Cataria, Variopinto, La Manuela, Casa Mané, and BiBo.
Finally, the Best Table Service award recognizes customer attention and attention to detail in restaurants such as El Faro de Cádiz, El Faro de El Puerto, Mantúa, Venta Esteban, Código de Barra, Mesón Sabor Andaluz, and La Merina.
These awards have become a benchmark in the Andalusian hospitality sector, and the final verdict is eagerly awaited.
