The tourism sector in Cádiz expects an excellent reception for the summer of 2026, with visitor arrivals advancing each year. Beaches and hotels are already showing high occupancy since mid-May and June, exceeding expectations.
During July and August of 2025, the province registered 752,821 tourists, a 7% increase compared to the previous year, with August being the peak month. Overnight stays reached a historic high of 2,681,154 nights, up 4.1% from 2024. Even April 2026 showed a 7% rise in accommodated travelers compared to 2025.
The 'National Observatory of Emigrant Tourism' (ObservaTUR) report for Summer 2026 indicates that over half of tourists have already made some reservations. Locations like Zahara de los Atunes (92%), Chiclana (90%), and Conil (88%) lead hotel occupancy. However, travelers seek flexibility, and price remains a decisive factor.
Economic factors are crucial, with a clear preference for vacation rentals and reduced dining out. The average daily spending per tourist in the province was 96.6 euros in the third quarter of 2025, a figure that has been rising in recent years. Domestic tourists spend less than those from other autonomous communities and international visitors.
Nationally, the trend is towards shorter stays, but in Cádiz, the average stay in summer was 9.8 nights, higher than the Andalusian average (7.7 nights). Travelers seek experiences tailored to their budget and preferences, although sun and beach tourism remains a major attraction.
Couple's holidays are the preferred option, with 70% of travelers planning their getaway this way. Trips with children (38%) and friends (19%) are also significant, varying by tourist age.
