The intervention, scheduled to begin next May 19, will address both the sculpture and its base, which currently show various markings and signs of wear. The initiative aims to restore the monument to its original condition and preserve its cultural value.
The restoration work will include chemical and mechanical cleaning to remove concretions and the red graffiti covering the front area, as well as paint residues on the pedestal. Additionally, mortar will be replaced, green oxidations typical of bronze will be removed, and chromatic reintegration will be performed in necessary areas.
