The works, extending from the Hotel Playa to the Cemetery, seek to address the deterioration accumulated over more than four decades and exacerbated by early year storms. The most notable intervention has been the removal of the porticos built in the 1980s, whose dismantling was recommended by a municipal architect's report due to their poor condition and risk of collapse.

Currently, the Urban Maintenance department is focusing on rehabilitating the nine beach accesses. This includes replacing damaged tiles with new ones, maintaining the original aesthetic but with renewed materials. Additionally, the promenade's lampposts are being painted, and up to 25 new arms will be installed to improve lighting in necessary areas.

These works, with an estimated completion time of approximately two months, are expected to be finished by the second half of June. This will ensure that the first half of the Paseo Marítimo presents a renewed and more attractive image for the start of the peak summer season.

This action is part of a more ambitious plan for a comprehensive renovation of the entire Paseo Marítimo, a project previously considered by past administrations and now projected by the current one for the future. The goal is to enhance connectivity with the beach, create a more functional pedestrian pathway, and achieve urban and aesthetic uniformity along the entire coastline, from Santa María del Mar to Cortadura.
