The recent loss of Cádiz CF against Real Sporting de Gijón has intensified concerns within the club, as their hopes of staying in the league fade. The coach, who has only managed to secure 3 points out of a possible 21, with one win and six defeats in seven matches, admitted that the initial game plan fell apart after the opponent's first goal.
“"We didn't start badly, but that goal hurt us a lot."
The coach explained that, despite the intention to compete better and the hopes they had, an unfortunate action led to Sporting's first goal. Attempts to react after halftime, with key players coming on, failed to change the course of the match, which was sealed by the second goal against them.
“"Right now we are very vulnerable. You can withstand the first blow, but the second one is already difficult."
The team's morale is critical, with the locker room described as "devastated" and "annoyed" by the coach. Despite the adversity, the coach remained firm and energetic to face the challenge, highlighting the unconditional support from the fans, who "continue to believe in us".
