Cádiz CF has confirmed the return of a goalkeeper coach to the first team's technical staff, led by Imanol Idiakez. This addition comes in the final stretch of the season, after the coach had ceased his duties following the departure of the previous coach, Gaizka Garitano.
The coach was already present last Saturday in the match played in León, marking his effective return to the team's dynamic. His connection with the Cádiz entity will extend until the conclusion of the current campaign, which began in December 2024.
“"The reincorporation occurs at a key moment of the season, with the team immersed in the fight to achieve its sporting objectives. The club thus opts for continuity and experience in a technical area considered strategic within competitive performance."
The coach boasts an extensive career in Spanish professional football. Before his stint at Cádiz, he was part of the technical staff of UD Almería during the 2023/2024 season, also alongside Gaizka Garitano. His longest period was at Real Valladolid, where he worked between 2015 and 2023 with various coaches.
Cádiz CF has not detailed additional changes to the technical staff structure following this incorporation, which focuses exclusively on strengthening the work with the first team's goalkeepers under the direction of Imanol Idiakez. With his active presence in training and competition, the yellow club faces the end of the calendar with adjustments in its technical structure, seeking stability and performance in the final matchdays.
