At the press room of the Ciudad Deportiva de la Bahía de Cádiz (El Rosal), Cádiz CF coach, Sergio González, discussed the week's training, describing it as “very good” and focused on correcting errors from the previous match. He stressed that, despite the adverse result, the team showed positive aspects and a rebellious attitude in the face of their difficult situation.
“"The remedy is to work, work, and work. That's what we're doing."
González emphasized the team's improvement during the second half of the match against Andorra, where he perceived “more soul” and a greater proximity to a favorable outcome. He highlighted the entry of key players who brought daring and courage, although he acknowledged that the current instability has led to a more conservative approach.
The coach insisted on the need to find a balance between being strong and solid in defense, while also being daring and brave in attack. He also positively assessed the team's ability to avoid conceding goals in the first minutes of play, an aspect in which they have improved.
“"Ideally, we would get ahead on the scoreboard, and we must also regain the feeling of being strong at the back and not conceding. If we are chasing, it is doubly difficult."
Looking ahead to the upcoming match against Sporting at El Molinón, Sergio González anticipated a strong and well-organized opponent, who will play with the support of their fans. He stated that Cádiz CF must be competitive and decisive, without fear, and that the key will be in the first 15 minutes of each half of the match. Regarding the squad, he mentioned that the combination of experience and youth is fundamental, and that Lucas Pérez's recovery is progressing favorably.
