The Cadiz club confirmed this Monday, July 13th, that the island team will be their opponent in the well-known 'trophy of trophies'. This will be Las Palmas' third participation in the competition, having won it in 2017 and participated in a triangular tournament in 2018.
The Gran Canaria squad, which competed in the promotion play-offs to the First Division last June, has Rubén de la Barrera as their new coach for the current season. Las Palmas were relegated to the Second Division in the 2024-25 season and are aiming for promotion in the 2026-27 campaign.
This match will serve as Cádiz CF's final friendly before the start of LaLiga Hypermotion, which kicks off a week later with a home game against Celta Fortuna.
Both teams will face each other twice in August. After the Carranza Trophy on August 8th, they will meet again on the weekend of September 13th during the fifth league matchday.
