The intervention, with a budget of 11,568.47 euros (VAT included), is part of a broader municipal project for the conservation of busts and sculptures in public spaces of the Cadiz capital. The contract will be awarded based on the best economic offer.

The sculpture of Admiral Blas de Lezo, a historical figure from the 18th century who was key in the defense of Cartagena de Indias in 1741, will undergo general cleaning, anti-corrosion treatment, and repair of its components. The technical specifications detail the intervention on both the bronze figure and the marble plinth.

The work will include cleaning bird droppings, reconstructing the sword's blade, and repairing joints and fractures on the base. The bronze embellishments will also be replaced, and the lettering on the dedicatory inscriptions will be restored.

The execution period for this restoration is 20 days. This action is part of a campaign announced by the City Council for the refurbishment of bronze pieces and plaques displayed throughout the city, which will begin with a careful cleaning to preserve the patina and material.
