The operation, named Naturke, began in January after an investigation into several fast-food establishments. The inquiries focused on four kebab shops located in El Puerto de Santa María, Prado del Rey, Bornos, and Puerto Serrano, all linked to the same owner.
During inspections, carried out in collaboration with the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate, numerous irregularities were detected. Five foreign nationals of Pakistani origin were found working in an irregular administrative situation; they were arrested for violations of the Immigration Law, and expulsion proceedings were initiated.
Employees worked under conditions considered labor exploitation, with prolonged working hours without days off, under constant surveillance via cameras, and receiving salaries below legal standards.
In addition to the exploitative conditions, which included degrading treatment, insults, and threats, the investigation revealed that the businessman took advantage of the workers' vulnerability due to their irregular status in Spain. Concurrently, he is being investigated for an alleged crime of facilitating irregular immigration.
The detainee allegedly registered 34 foreign nationals in four properties he owned or rented, even though these individuals did not actually reside there. This practice aimed to facilitate the necessary residency for administrative regularization in Spain. In return, the investigated individual allegedly demanded sums ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 euros or resorted to labor exploitation in his own businesses.
The Unit Against Immigration Networks and Document Forgery (UCRIF) of the Local Immigration and Borders Brigade of El Puerto de Santa María-Puerto Real was responsible for this operation, which remains open and does not rule out further actions.
