The town of Alcalá del Valle, located in the Sierra de Cádiz, is gearing up to host the twelfth edition of its traditional Asparagus Fair, a gastronomic event scheduled from April 10 to 12, 2026, promising three days of activities centered around its star product.

The Alcalá del Valle Town Council has unveiled the complete program for this anticipated spring event, which will highlight the local produce. Attendees can look forward to a wide array of activities that blend the flavors, culture, and traditions of the region.
Key attractions include free tastings of asparagus-based recipes, wine and beer sampling sessions, and an agro-artisan market. Music will also play a significant role, with performances by various groups and DJs such as Magustami, Trueno Azul, Los Barrieros del Sur, La Mala Hora, La Suerte del Loco, DJ Alex López, and DJ 4 Beats.
The fair will feature events for all ages, from the “Esparraguin Race” for children to bubble-making workshops and Disney storytelling. Adults can participate in plant training sessions, a bachata masterclass, and a payoyo cheese-making workshop. Additionally, there will be competitions such as the “Best Asparagus Bunch,” “Asparagus Omelets,” and a live painting contest.
A special culinary highlight will be a live cooking demonstration by chef Pedro Aguilera, a Michelin 2025 star recipient, who will showcase his expertise with asparagus. The fair will conclude with a performance by Rumba Canalla, following a tribute to Andalusian rock featuring music from Triana and Medina Azahara.
