Unemployment in San Fernando has seen a significant decrease in June, standing at 7,316 registered job seekers. This figure represents a drop of 4.70 percentage points, a considerably better outcome than the provincial average for Cádiz, which was 3.82%.
The reduction of 361 unemployed individuals in the past month is largely attributed to summer hiring, particularly in the services sector. This sector has seen its number of job seekers fall from 5,714 to 5,416, a decrease of 298 people, making it the most dynamic sector during the summer season.
Compared to the previous year, the number of unemployed has decreased by 976 people, as at the end of June 2025, the figure stood at 8,292. The group of individuals with no prior work experience has also seen a reduction, with 51 fewer unemployed, dropping from 1,118 to 1,067.
Other sectors also show decreases: construction reports 6 fewer unemployed (476 total) and industry, 9 fewer (281 total). Conversely, agriculture has experienced a slight increase, with job seekers rising from 73 to 76.
Within the context of the Bay of Cádiz, San Fernando ranks among the localities with the largest drops in unemployment.
