The facade of the local PSOE headquarters in Puerto Real was defaced with graffiti accusing the party and the Popular Party of complicity in the controversial 'blacklists' within the metal sector. These acts of vandalism, which have been reported in recent months in the Bay of Cádiz, occur amidst ongoing tensions, with two workers currently barricaded in a crane at the Navantia San Fernando shipyard.
Carlos Salguero, the socialist spokesperson in Puerto Real, publicly condemned the incidents, emphasizing that such actions undermine the legitimacy of any claim and negatively impact innocent third parties. He expressed regret that the damage was not limited to the Casa del Pueblo, the party's headquarters, but also affected an adjacent business, whose owner is a worker unrelated to the conflict.
“"It is a business that has nothing to do with these events and whose owner is just another worker, precisely like those they claim to defend."
The PSOE of Puerto Real has reiterated its commitment to defending employment in the Bay of Cádiz, describing it as a “constant priority.” Salguero stressed that the party has always supported workers in the Bay, in response to the implicit accusations made by the graffiti.
Beyond the condemnation, Salguero extended an invitation for dialogue, proposing peaceful avenues for addressing grievances. He assured that, despite the incidents, the party's work agenda would not be altered, reaffirming its commitment to the future of the Bay.
“"Next time, it would be better if they called us and we met. They have come to the City Council without notice, but we are convinced that if we sit down, we can reach agreements and propose joint actions."
The Popular Party of Puerto Real also joined in condemning the acts of vandalism. Vicente Fernández, spokesperson for the Popular group in the Puerto Real City Council, described these behaviors as “absolutely unacceptable” and out of place in a democratic society, calling for collective responsibility and institutional respect.
