The municipal paving campaign in Chiclana continues with interventions on Agustín Blázquez and Jardines streets, with work scheduled to commence tomorrow. This initiative involves a total investment of €1,898,792.50 by the City Council.
Due to the high volume of traffic on both roads, the Local Police has developed a traffic management plan to establish alternative routes. In the vicinity of Agustín Blázquez street, detours will be via Mayorazgo Avenue and Hermanos Eufrasio street. For the Jardines street area, alternatives will be through Puertas and Pasarela streets.
The municipal delegate for Urban Maintenance, Mari Ángeles Martínez Rico, emphasized the importance of these actions for improving traffic and safety, acknowledging that complex days are expected in the affected areas.
This campaign, which began last June, includes work on approximately thirty streets. Among the roads already intervened or scheduled for intervention are streets in the areas of La Banda (such as Burgos, Gallo, Soria, Arenal/Jardines, Puerto Rico, Barbate, Medina Sidonia, Grazalema, Avenida del Trabajo, and Antonio Pizano), El Lugar (Avenida de Fuente Amarga, Cuesta del Matadero street, Santa Inés, and Agustín Blázquez), Camino del Cerro del Molino, Los Gallos (Ganso, Focha, Cormorán, Avutarda, and Avefría), Coto la Campa (Moluscos, de la Barca, and Vereda Cádiz-Conil), as well as Octavio Augusto Avenue, Luxembourg Avenue (San Andrés Golf), Las Lagunas road, Carabineros road, and the Hozanejos bridge.
These tasks complement other significant interventions previously carried out in the city, such as those on Fierro street (€500,000), Arroyuelo and Iro streets (€1,550,000), Alameda del Río (€2.8 million), the old Nacional 340 (€4.5 million), the roads of La Rana Verde (€2.1 million) and Fuente Amarga (also €2.1 million). Additionally, projects for sidewalk maintenance (€1.4 million), road repairs, and post-heavy rainfall interventions are included.
