The Consortium of Transport of the Bay of Cadiz, affiliated with the Regional Ministry of Public Works, has begun celebrating European Mobility Week. An information stand has been set up at the bus station in Cadiz, managed by the Consortium, providing detailed information about the Consortium's transport card and its intermodal use.
As a key measure, from yesterday until September 22nd, users can obtain the transport card for free at usual points of sale, with no management fees during this week. Additionally, a contest has been launched on the Consortium's social media, 'Share your selfie with your Transport Card,' with daily winners receiving a transport card loaded with 20 euros.
The information stand will also be present at the catamaran stations in El Puerto, Rota, and Cadiz on September 18th, 19th, and 22nd, respectively, offering information and merchandise. The Consortium will also hold informational talks on Thursday during the welcome sessions for students at the Puerto Real Campus of the University.
The initiative places a special emphasis on intergenerational equity under the European slogan 'Mobility for all people.' Specific activities have been planned for school groups and seniors, recognizing that mobility needs vary among children, working-age adults, and the elderly, and that an inclusive system must cater to all.
The 'Aula Consorcio' program will hold its sixteenth edition on September 22nd, taking Primary school students on a round-trip catamaran journey from Cadiz to El Puerto. Using the Consortium card, students will participate in activities at the Los Toruños and Pinar de la Algaida Metropolitan Park, linked to the week's theme and the enjoyment of the environment.
In parallel, an activity for 'Our Seniors' will take place. An active center from El Puerto de Santa María will make a catamaran trip between this municipality and Cadiz on September 18th. Upon arrival at the maritime terminal in Cadiz, participants will engage in activities organized by the center.
The full program for European Mobility Week is available on the Consortium's website, www.cmtbc.es, and will be promoted through its social media channels.
