On May 30, approximately 800 participants will gather at La Clica to begin the course of this event, which this year commemorates its tenth anniversary. The race, known for its toughness and the natural environment in which it takes place, has generated great anticipation, leading to the implementation of a pre-registration and lottery system for bib assignments.
The Fan Pin will largely maintain the characteristics and layout of previous editions. Runners will complete an eight-kilometer itinerary, including sections through the NCO School and the TEAR facilities, as well as two crossings of the Caño 18. The challenge culminates with two final kilometers of mud, testing the physical and mental endurance of the participants.
“"To complete these eight kilometers, participants have three long hours, and approximately one-third of the runners do not finish the race within the allotted time or must be evacuated due to rising tides."
Among the novelties of this special edition is the introduction of a category for minors aged 14 to 17, who will participate accompanied by an adult and face a shorter mud section. Additionally, the Mini Fan Pin, an adapted version for children, continues to be held, aiming to introduce them to the spirit of the race.
This sporting event not only offers a spectacle for runners and spectators but also strengthens the historical bond between the Navy and the city of San Fernando.
