The 2026 edition of the Feria del Carmen y la Sal will be a significant event for San Fernando, as it will be the last time it is held at Almirante Laulhé Park. It is expected that for the following edition, the fairgrounds will be located in La Magdalena Park.
The fair's entrance will be inspired by the facade of the Iglesia del Carmen, incorporating vertical pilasters, a color scheme reminiscent of the temple, and a bell tower crowning the structure. At night, the entrance will feature traditional lighting with lanterns and an illuminated sign identifying the fair.
The decoration will be complemented by tiles reflecting those found in the cloister of the Convento de los Padres Carmelitas Descalzos and the Iglesia del Carmen itself, including border motifs and representations of the Virgen del Carmen. This design gains special relevance as it commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Coronation of the Virgen del Carmen and the 125th anniversary of her designation as patron saint of the Navy.
Additionally, the fair's origins in Almirante Laulhé Park will be honored with the recreation of the historic municipal booth at the Auditorium's entrance, recalling its first installation in this space.
In recent years, the island's fair has experienced significant growth in attendance and demand, with a waiting list for booth installations. This surge is attributed to fiscal measures that have eliminated costs for booth operators and the promotion of participation by non-profit organizations, which find the fair a way to obtain resources for their projects.
The fair model has also opted for a more pleasant location, with shaded areas and trees, characteristics present in Almirante Laulhé Park and which will be maintained in the future La Magdalena venue. This is complemented by the diversification of booth sizes, the expansion of terraces for enjoying summer nights, and a daily program of activities.
