The works, coinciding with the start of school holidays, cover various areas to ensure safer, more accessible, and comfortable spaces for students and teachers. The local government has reported on these actions, which include painting approximately 6,500 square meters of surfaces with an investment of 179,326.58 euros.
Painting teams are already working, complemented by gardening and extraordinary cleaning tasks. Gardening is being carried out by two parallel teams between August 10th and 20th.
Additionally, 45,000 euros are allocated for masonry, cladding, and roofing maintenance, and 40,000 euros for locksmithing and carpentry. These contracts allow for continuous incident resolution throughout the year.
The investment plan also includes the improvement of sports facilities. Works on the sports court at the Casaría de Ossio school will soon conclude, followed by the repair of the court at CEIP Las Cortes, completing the action in 15 schools with an investment of 700,000 euros. At the latter center, exterior carpentry will also be replaced for 44,509.49 euros.
The City Council reminds that these improvements do not replace the structural investments corresponding to the Regional Government of Andalusia, urging the autonomous administration to promote a renovation plan for the older centers.
