The new waste collection points are strategically located on the Primera Pista, specifically on Avenida de La Barrosa and at two points on Calle Asunción (in front of the Tourist Information Point and opposite the La Balconera Urbanization). On the Segunda Pista, another has been installed on Avenida del Atlántico.
Funding for this initiative comes from the Sustainable Tourism Plan for Destinations, through the NextGeneration Funds of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. The project, carried out by the company Eurosoterrado SL, had an awarded budget of 251,846.98 euros.
The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, highlighted that these new underground containers double the capacity of the previous ones, eliminating the grey containers and leaving only recycling bins. This action has focused on areas with a high concentration of hospitality establishments, such as the Primera Pista, to manage the increase in waste, especially during the summer.
