The Interpretation Center, located in the village of Sancti Petri, will unveil this expansion at an institutional event scheduled for 5:00 PM. This new area will focus on almadraba activities, incorporating documentation, graphic material, and historical elements related to traditional tuna fishing in the region.
This initiative gains particular significance following the recent concession of a red tuna fishing quota for Chiclana's almadraba, a development that will allow the revival of this activity starting in the 2027 season. The inclusion of new content aims to contextualize the historical and economic importance of almadraba along the Chiclana coast.
“"The commemoration will serve, in addition to reviewing the facility's trajectory over the last decade, to present a monographic exhibition space focused on almadraba activity."
Since its opening in 2016, the Lighthouse Keeper's House has operated as a gastronomic and cultural venue in one of the municipality's most visited enclaves. The building, situated opposite Sancti Petri Castle, has become a meeting point for residents and visitors, offering both culinary experiences and activities linked to local identity.
During the anniversary celebration, the City Council will also acknowledge the work of the team that has managed the space over the years. Furthermore, future development plans for the Interpretation Center will be announced, aimed at expanding and updating exhibition content related to the municipality's maritime and fishing history.
