A seven-year-old maltipoo dog, abandoned in El Puerto de Santa María after years of breeding exploitation, has found a permanent home in San Fernando, where a family has given her a second chance.

The story of Galleta, a maltipoo dog, touched many hearts a few days ago when her abandonment situation was shared on social media. After a life dedicated to breeding and being abandoned in El Puerto de Santa María with her puppies, this dog has found a happy ending in San Fernando.
A local family decided to adopt her, offering her the affection and stability she never had. According to the adoptive mother, the decision arose from the desire to give an opportunity to animals that have suffered, without seeking to replace their previous pet.

"We saw Galleta on social media and couldn't resist meeting her. It's not about replacing one pet with another, but about taking advantage of the circumstance to give a well-deserved second chance to dogs that haven't had a good life and have had a very hard time."

The adoption process was managed through the Patas shelter in El Puerto de Santa María. From the first meeting, Galleta showed an immediate connection with her new family, jumping into the car without hesitation and exploring her new home with complete naturalness, as if she had always belonged there.
The family highlights the dog's “sweet, affectionate, and noble” character, noting that she has integrated perfectly from the start. For them, this is their first adoption experience, but they assure it won't be their last, encouraging others to consider responsible adoption.
As part of her new island life, Galleta has already enjoyed Camposoto Beach, a space where dogs can run freely out of season. The family is excited to see her play and enjoy the water, confirming that the dog has become the “queen of the house”.
