The overlap of the Feria del Caballo in Jerez and the Feria de la Primavera y Fiesta del Vino Fino in El Puerto de Santa María for five days in 2027 has become a point of discussion. Both localities aim to optimize their festive calendars, but the proximity of the dates presents challenges.
The spring calendar for 2027 in the province of Cádiz is particularly crowded. The municipal elections scheduled for Sunday, May 23rd, add further pressure to event planning. Other significant confirmed events include the Motorcycle Grand Prix in Jerez on May 9th, and the start of the El Rocío pilgrimage on May 16th.
The City Council of El Puerto de Santa María initially announced its fair would take place between April 28th and May 3rd, aiming to avoid conflicts with other events, including the Seville April Fair. However, the Feria del Caballo in Jerez is scheduled from April 24th to May 1st, creating a direct overlap.
Given that the Jerez fair is the largest in the province, concerns have been raised that the overlap could particularly affect the fair in El Puerto. Although potential solutions are being discussed in El Puerto, options to avoid the clash in May are limited due to the high density of scheduled events.
