The cultural offering, organized by the City Council of Puerto Real with the collaboration of the Provincial Culture Foundation of the Diputación de Cádiz and the Andalusian Network of Public Theaters, includes theater, dance, jazz, copla, and children's and family events.
Culture Councilor Nazaret Ramírez highlighted the theater's significance as the second oldest continuously operating theater in Andalusia and detailed recent improvements, such as new lighting, a renovated screen and projector, and a planned air conditioning system.
Performing arts take center stage with eight productions, including 'Invisible y todas las demás' by Alas Circo (September 25), 'Memorias de trapo' by La Mona Danza (October 1), 'Shakespeare & compañía' by Teatro de Fondo (October 2), and 'La Reina Brava' by Las Niñas de Cádiz (October 9).
Other scheduled performances are 'Contando Tangos' by Madre Coraje (October 16), 'Por Amal' by Exilio Tarab (November 13), and the monologue 'Volando con los pies en el suelo' by Rafael Álvarez ‘El Brujo’ (December 4).
The musical program begins on September 11 with the farewell tour concert of local artist Salvador García ‘Pitu’. This will be followed by the jazz show 'Four Women Quartet' (November 6), the Santa Cecilia concert by the Banda Pedro Álvarez Hidalgo (November 20), and performances by ‘Zambomband’ (December 18 and 19).
For younger audiences, the program features Circo Papanati by Títeres Papanati (September 18) and 'Cris, pequeña valiente' by El Espejo Negro (October 23), telling the story of a transgender child.
