The city of El Puerto de Santa María is preparing for its big week with the celebration of the 2026 Fair, which will take place at the Las Banderas fairgrounds. The event will officially begin on Wednesday, April 29, with the traditional lighting ceremony at 10:00 PM and will run until Monday, May 4, bringing together thousands of people around the emblematic Osborne bull.
This year, the fair will be dedicated to San Sebastián, paying homage to the historical ties between both localities, dating back to the era of the Cargadores a Indias. The celebration will feature 68 booths, various attractions, and special days, in addition to a significant deployment in terms of mobility to ensure the comfort of attendees.
To facilitate access to the Real, the municipal plan has reinforced public transport. Bus tickets will have a single price of 1.20 euros, with shuttle lines and connections from different neighborhoods. The main bus service will start operating from the afternoon of Wednesday, April 29, and will maintain daily service until dawn, extending hours during peak attendance days, especially Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be frequent departures from points such as Plaza de la Noria, Plaza de Toros, Plaza España, and El Tejar, with reduced waiting times. Night services will also be offered from areas such as Valdelagrana, Fuentebravía, Costa Oeste, Vistahermosa, and El Poblado, aiming to provide an alternative to using private vehicles.
Those who choose to come by car will have four parking areas enabled by the City Council to ease congestion at the entrances to Las Banderas. These parking lots will be located in Pago El Palomar, the former Discoteca Joy Sherry, Villa Julia, and Viña de Quirós, being the recommended spots to park and access the fairgrounds more easily, especially on the main days of the fair.
The fair's program will include the popular Children's Days, scheduled for April 29 and 30, with reduced prices on attractions. Additionally, the Day without Noise will be maintained, taking place on May 1 between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, with attractions operating without sound stimuli to create a more adapted and accessible environment. These measures are part of the fair's commitment to inclusion, which also includes a preferential access system for minors with ASD and sound regulation in the attraction area to prevent music overlap and enhance the overall experience.
