The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, accompanied by the delegate for Urban Maintenance and Neighborly Attention, Mª Ángeles Martínez Rico, and the president of the Association of Seniors of Panzacola, Francisco Mendoza, announced the investment that will act in the neighborhoods of Ciudad Jardín, La Cucarela, Zalgaones, and Plaza Domingo Bohórquez (first lot, 402,711.05 euros), as well as in Santa Ana, calle Atenas, Plaza Clara Campoamor, Huerto del Egido (San José del Arenal), and La Carabina (second lot, 397,875.15 euros).
The deadline for submitting bids for the award of both lots will be next August 11. Interested companies can consult the details on the public procurement portal.
The mayor highlighted the importance of these actions in an area with over 125 social housing units and a significant educational cluster. "Here we will have a children's park, a calisthenics park, and a biosanitary space for our seniors," he noted, framing the project within a general plan of two million euros.
José María Román also emphasized the need to complement this plan with the health center of La Cucarela, whose execution is pending a decision by the Junta, and recalled the saturation of the Padre Salado health center.
Mª Ángeles Martínez Rico explained that the Neighborhood Plan responds to the needs conveyed by residents in meetings. "We already have the projects executed, totaling about two million euros, so once the works are awarded in the coming weeks, they will be carried out," she stated, adding that interventions are made in both large projects and small urban improvements.
Francisco Mendoza, president of the Association of Seniors of Panzacola, thanked the announcement and expressed his satisfaction with the projects that will improve the quality of life for local residents.
The actions, with an execution period of seven months, will include the repair of pavements on sidewalks and common areas, improvement of accessibility, replacement of trees, creation of new parking spaces, and enhancement of the urban image through plastering and painting work.
Specifically, in La Cucarela, a children's park, a biosanitary space, and a calisthenics park will be created. In Ciudad Jardín, asphalt will be repaired and walls and signage improved. Zalgaones will see maintenance of its perimeter wall and fencing, while Plaza Domingo Bohórquez will receive improvements to planters, the canopy, and pavement.
On the other hand, in La Carabina, work will be done on walls and pavement; in Huerto del Egido on walls and pavement; in Santa Ana on walls, planters, and signage; in the plaza de la calle Atenas on accessibility and pavements; and in Plaza Clara Campoamor, the public space will be reorganized to increase the number of parking spaces.
