The mayor of Martos, Emilio Torres, and the Councilor for Districts, Manuela Pérez, were responsible for extending the invitation to José Luis Donaire, who accepted the challenge with great enthusiasm. The mayor emphasized that choosing the herald for both the Olive Festival and the San Bartolomé Fair is not an easy decision, but in this case, it was unanimous. Torres highlighted Donaire's extensive career in Martos' cultural scene, noting he was one of the founders of the Maestro Soler Music Band.
José Luis Donaire expressed his gratitude and announced that his proclamation will specially feature the Maestro Soler Music Band, wishing for them to be with him on stage. He admitted to being "overwhelmed" by the honor, comparing himself to previous heralds such as Vicente Hoya, Caballero Venzalá, or Miguel Calvo, and hopes to "live up to it".
The future herald assured that he has always experienced the Olive Festival in a very special way and that his memories will be prominently featured in his speech. Donaire, a native of Martos, a retired Valeo worker, and from a family of orchard keepers, recalled growing up among olive groves.
