The security report for the San Lucas 2026 Fair and Festivals in Jaén, held from October 9th to 18th, registered a total of 228 incidents. The majority, 220, were medical assists (96.5% of the total), while the remaining eight related to other issues such as lost items or disturbances.
The fair proceeded without serious security incidents, apart from a knife attack early Friday morning. Of the 220 individuals receiving medical attention, only 17 required hospital transfer (7.7%). The most frequent conditions treated were wound care (54), alcohol intoxication (43), and cuts or injuries (41), with these three categories accounting for 62.6% of registered assists.
A notable innovation this year was the implementation of new Civil Protection management software. This tool centralized incident registration and allowed real-time visualization of deployed personnel, significantly enhancing coordination with resources from Cruz Roja, Local Police, Firefighters, 112, and the National Police.
The temporal analysis of incidents confirms that peak attendance times correlate with higher demand for assistance. Saturday, October 10th, was the busiest day with 44 incidents, followed by Saturday, October 17th, with 35. The early morning hours (00:00-06:59) accounted for 43.1% of medical assists (94).
The Punto Violeta (Violet Point), established by the Equality Department, also reported no significant incidents beyond its informational role. The Equality Councilor, Eva Funes, highlighted that citizens positively value the presence of this service and its preventive work.
