The University of Jaén (UJA) has announced the celebration of the European Researchers' Night 2026, which will take place in the cities of Jaén and Linares. This annual event's main objective is to promote scientific dissemination and foster closeness between researchers and citizens.
Among the cultural and scientific agenda, several important dates stand out. The Casa de la Cultura de Vilches will host the exhibition titled 'El paso del Sur. Los ingenieros militares y el camino de Despeñaperros (1777-1808)' (The Southern Pass. Military Engineers and the Despeñaperros Road (1777-1808)), which can be visited starting July 17. This exhibition explores the historical importance of military engineering in the region.
Furthermore, on July 12, the Patio de la Antigua Universidad de Baeza (Courtyard of the Old University of Baeza) will be the venue for a concert by the Wind Ensemble of the UJA Orchestra, as part of the Baezafest 2026 festival. This musical performance complements the university's cultural offerings.
The European Researchers' Night 2026 will be officially celebrated on September 25, although related activities will extend over several months, including the aforementioned exhibitions and concerts. The UJA has also highlighted activities for profiles aimed at prospective students, current students, alumni, and institutional staff, compiling the most visited sections to facilitate access to relevant information.
