The Urban Planning department of the City Council of Villa del Río has reported that the project on Madrid Street, included in the PROFEA program, is nearing completion after significant progress. This intervention is part of a broader plan to improve public spaces and create employment for agricultural workers.
The program includes three main projects: the remodeling of the lower part of the Jardín del Lirio, the renovation of the sidewalk on Madrid Street adapted for people with reduced mobility, and the remodeling of Fuensanta Street. All these actions involve improvements to water supply and sanitation networks.
On Madrid Street, the work has involved replacing the sidewalk, adapting pedestrian crossings for accessibility, and renewing the water and sanitation networks to improve rainwater drainage.
The City Council of Villa del Río has thanked the operators and workers for their professionalism and speed, which will allow the project to be made available to the public soon. The intervention will generate 600 'peonadas' (workdays), requiring 5 foremen and 40 laborers.
The total investment amounts to €110,393.97, co-financed by the SEPE (€73,433.80), the Provincial Council of Córdoba (€8,261.30), the Regional Government of Andalusia (€24,783.91), and the City Council of Villa del Río itself (€3,914.96) for material costs.
