The event, scheduled from April 23 to 26, from 12:00 to 20:00, will for the first time forgo the ticket system, allowing free public access. Attendees will be able to purchase glasses and wines directly from each of the ten exhibitors present, a smaller number compared to the fourteen wineries last year. The decision to reduce participation is due to a challenging year for the region, affected by rains and a mildew epidemic that significantly reduced production.
The official presentation of this edition's poster took place at the Córdoba City Council, with the presence of the DOP Montilla Moriles Regulatory Council and various collaborating institutions. A highlight was the attendance of Rafael Moreno, mayor of Adamuz, in recognition of the special dedication this year to his municipality for the exemplary work of its inhabitants following the train accident on January 18.
“"2025 has been a terrible year for our region, mainly due to the rains and the mildew epidemic, which has led to a severely reduced production."
Martín also explained that the elimination of entry tickets responds to “repeated criticism of queues” in previous editions. Furthermore, he took the opportunity to praise the resilience of farmers and the solidarity of the people of Adamuz, highlighting their response to the adversity of the train accident.
For his part, the mayor of Adamuz, Rafael Moreno, expressed his gratitude for the tribute and emphasized the effort of farmers, comparing it to the dedication required to produce olive oil in his town. Moreno noted that the Wine Tasting coincides with the start of the Adamuz fair, a festive time that helps to “leave behind the scar” of the tragic event.
“"We did what we could then, but we are now recovering. This scar is now being left behind."
The mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, congratulated the organization for this 40th edition, which “strengthens the natural link with gastronomy” and promotes Córdoba as a tourist destination. Also present were the delegate of the Junta in Córdoba, Adolfo Molina, and the president of the Córdoba Provincial Council, Salvador Fuentes, who underscored the importance of the Wine Tasting for the province, especially in a difficult year for the wine sector.
