Residents of Órgiva will soon experience a significant leap in mobile connectivity. Leading telecom companies, Telefónica, Vodafone, and Orange, have confirmed the rollout of 4G and 5G technologies in the town over the next few weeks. This initiative will utilize the 800 and 700 MHz bands, respectively, enabling high-speed mobile data connections.
The improvements will not only focus on speed but also on coverage quality. A notable optimization is expected for indoor reception, a common issue in many areas, along with an expansion of the service's geographical reach. This will provide Órgiva's citizens with a more reliable and comprehensive mobile experience.
To ensure compatibility between these new networks and Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), Llega700, an entity established by the operators, has been launched. Its role is to resolve any potential interference with television signal reception caused by these deployments. The implementation process is being carried out gradually across the nation.
This rollout is part of Royal Decree 579/2019, which freed up frequencies between 694 and 790 MHz (channels 49 to 60 of UHF) previously used for DTT, a process also known as the Second Digital Dividend. These frequencies have now been allocated to mobile operators for next-generation mobile services.
The benefits of the new mobile network extend beyond simple browsing. It will facilitate access to innovative services and applications, significantly enhance download and upload speeds for high-definition multimedia content, and improve the performance of online applications like video games. Furthermore, the technology is designed to overcome challenges posed by complex terrains, improving coverage in traditionally underserved areas.
The introduction of the next-generation network will also boost the business sector and public administrations, enabling mobile applications with rich multimedia content and widespread use of video calls. The extended coverage in the 700 and 800 MHz bands will be crucial for this efficient geographical expansion.
Llega700 will provide free services to guarantee compatibility between 4G/5G mobile broadcasts and DTT reception. This includes a corrective procedure after the activation of stations, where Llega700 will manage and resolve any potential disruptions at no cost to users. A free helpline (900 833 999) and the website www.llega700.es are available for inquiries.
