The detainee, whose identity has not been disclosed, consistently operated by gaining entry to establishments by breaking windows with a large stone. If bars were present, he would use a hydraulic jack to force them open before shattering the glass. Once inside, his primary targets were cash registers and containers holding cash, such as tip jars, after which he would flee through the same entry point.
The investigation, led by the Guardia Civil's Investigation Area in Órgiva, relied on analyzing surveillance footage and collecting testimonies. The consistency in the suspect's physical build, clothing, and modus operandi was crucial in focusing the search.
One of the main obstacles to his location was that the individual had no known address and hid in areas of vegetation, where he slept in a sleeping bag.
The difficulty in locating the individual stemmed from his lack of a fixed address and his habit of hiding in vegetated areas, where he even slept. In one of these makeshift shelters, officers discovered items stolen from one of the robberies, which further solidified suspicions against him.
The case took a decisive turn on April 9, when health services reported a person who had requested medical assistance at a local residence, providing two different identities. Subsequent checks confirmed that it was the wanted man. Following his arrest, the young man has been brought before judicial authorities.
