The town of Abla will revive an ancient tradition this weekend with the celebration of the Fiesta de la Trilla (Threshing Festival), which will reach its eighth edition next Saturday, August 29th. The event, organized by the El Serbal Equestrian Center with the collaboration of the City Council, aims to reconnect with the roots and customs of the countryside.
Starting at 5:30 PM in the Eras Postreras, this ancestral practice of separating grain from straw and husk after harvest will be relived. The Abla City Council invites attendees to experience this day firsthand, emphasizing that it will be an afternoon to remember the work of past generations and keep the rural heritage of Abla alive.

The mayor, Francisco Javier Sánchez, highlights the importance of this activity in keeping the tradition alive. Attendees will have the opportunity to actively participate by riding the 'trillo' (threshing tool) and can learn more about this labor through an exhibition of old utensils.
Abla uses its traditions and past to revitalize the town and attract visitors. This festival is joined by other annual celebrations such as the Fiesta de la Matanza (Slaughter Festival), the reenactment of Lucio Alfeno Avitiano's funeral (scheduled for September 12th), and its renowned mycological days, which have boosted tourism in the area.
