During the final session of the oral hearing, the Public Prosecutor's Office maintained its provisional conclusions, requesting six years in prison and a fine of 50 million euros for each person involved in this public health offense.
The operation was dismantled on June 19, 2025, when a vessel from Nador (Morocco) arrived at the Port of Almería with a truck carrying the drugs. After passing port controls, the vehicle was continuously monitored by the National Police, who had previously installed a geolocation device.
The truck driver, escorted by a "scout" vehicle to warn of controls, headed to an industrial warehouse on Júpiter Street in Huércal de Almería. Two other defendants were waiting there, providing access and conducting surveillance around the premises.
“"The drug traffickers had hidden numerous burlap bales behind pallets of watermelons, but the most meticulous detail was the discovery of sacks that appeared to contain potatoes, which were actually rigid plastic molds concealing two hashish tablets each."
The police intervention occurred as the trailer entered the facility, revealing the massive haul. The official weighing of the seized drugs amounted to 13,700,755.49 grams, with an estimated black market value of 25,024,134.18 euros, according to the tables of the National Central Office for Narcotics.
In addition to the prison sentences and financial penalties, the Public Prosecutor's Office has requested the expulsion from national territory for four of the defendants once they have served three-quarters of their sentence, accessed third-degree prison status, or been granted conditional release.
