Desencuadre Magazine has presented its eleventh issue at the Patio del Mandarino, with the support of the Provincial Council of Almería, the Almería City Council, and the Ibáñez Cosentino Foundation. Participants included Almudena Morales, Vice President of the Provincial Council and Councilor for Culture; Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca, Councilor for Tourism, Communications, and City Promotion; Pepe Jiménez, the magazine's director; and Marina Rodríguez, president of the Desencuadre Photographic Collective.
Almudena Morales highlighted photography's role in preserving memory and identity, praising initiatives like Desencuadre for their talent, sensitivity, and cultural commitment. She emphasized the Provincial Council of Almería's support for projects that promote cultural heritage and identity, citing collaboration on the Mojácar Moors and Christians festival as an example of photography preserving traditions.
Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca expressed the City Council's pleasure in supporting the magazine's presentation, noting that photography in Almería possesses a present and future full of talent. He acknowledged the council's support for initiatives that value local photographers, foster contemporary creation, and promote the city's image.
Marina Rodríguez indicated that this issue marks a new phase under Pepe Jiménez's direction, expressing hopes for the project's continued growth and thanking collaborators and sponsors.
Pepe Jiménez thanked institutional support and venue provision, as well as the collaborative team. He defended photography as a cultural act conveying concepts and emotions, stating the magazine aims to become a publication open to new visual narratives.
