The exhibition, titled Exlibris, draws its name from the personal mark used to identify book ownership, symbolizing the creative imprint each photographer leaves on their work. This initiative by the Indalo Foto Group offers a diverse and profound insight into written culture.
“"An exlibris is that small personal mark someone stamps on a book to say: this book is mine, it is part of me. That is exactly what the Indalo Foto Group wanted to do with this exhibition: leave our mark."
The twenty-one individual perspectives in the exhibition approach books, reading, libraries, and words from various angles, including intimate, urban, abstract, and emotional viewpoints. The result is a cohesive visual dialogue where each image offers a unique perspective without repeating narratives, enriching the conversation about literature.
The exhibition's opening coincided with the upcoming Almería Book Fair, a fact the group considers a fortunate coincidence, highlighting the shared ability of photography and literature to offer new ways of seeing the world. The Indalo Foto Group has expressed its gratitude to the staff of the Francisco Villaespesa Library for their hospitality and to the provincial delegate of Tourism and Culture for the Junta de Andalucía, Juan José Alonso, for his continued support.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge during the library's regular hours. The Indalo Foto Group is an association of photographers from Almería who, united by their passion for imagery, regularly explore cultural and social themes through authorial photography.
