The official flag-raising ceremony, held at El Zapillo beach, highlighted the municipal efforts to ensure the enjoyment of the 32 kilometers of coastline. Among the recognitions obtained are the Blue Flags, the Q for Tourism Quality, ISO 9001 certification, and the S for Sustainability seal.
The beach plan for this summer includes a reinforced human and technical deployment, consisting of 34 lifeguards and five renovated surveillance posts. As a new feature, a specific booth for the Local Police has been installed, complemented by the constant presence of Civil Protection and cleaning services operating permanently.
Accessibility remains a priority for municipal management. In the El Palmeral area, shaded zones for people with reduced mobility have been expanded, adding 22 spaces next to the adapted bathing area. Additionally, a new handrail has been installed to facilitate water access, reinforcing the inclusive beach model recognized with the Universal Accessibility award.
Lifeguard services will remain active throughout the high season, while other facilities, such as restrooms and maintenance equipment, will be available until October 1st. The offering is completed by the improvement of local hospitality, including the opening of new beach bars in Costacabana and El Toyo-Retamar.
