The Local Government Board has formalized the award of a minor contract for the repair of the building's roof to the company Odysma, SL, with an investment of 15,464.40 euros. This intervention, expected to be completed within two months, adds to the expansion works already underway at the Casa del Cine, aimed at incorporating a production room and an indoor set.
“"We continue to advance in the comprehensive improvement of the Casa del Cine, a key space for the cultural and audiovisual promotion of the city. These actions allow us to expand the possibilities of this space from an exhibition point of view, now also having its own space for production and post-production, under the best conditions of use and safety."
The main objective of these works is the waterproofing of a section of the filming set's roof, where rainwater leaks were detected during the monitoring of the expansion works. These leaks were causing deterioration of structural elements, necessitating urgent action to prevent further damage and ensure the proper development of the new recording, audio, and video rooms.
The scheduled works include various preliminary, masonry, waterproofing, and locksmith tasks. These include the dismantling and subsequent repositioning of metal elements, the repair of manholes, the raising and coating of parapets, as well as the cleaning and renovation of the roofing system up to the existing asphalt felt. Additionally, a well will be waterproofed, and stainless steel railings will be repaired.
“"With these improvements, we guarantee the durability of the facilities and reinforce the municipal commitment to making the Casa del Cine a cultural and tourist benchmark."
These interventions are part of the overall expansion project of the Casa del Cine, which includes the creation of a production room and an indoor set. Furthermore, the Tourism Department plans to enrich the space's offerings with new musealization and the implementation of audio and video guide systems, which will facilitate autonomous visits and enhance the visitor experience.
