Luxury cruise ship docked at Almería port, marking the start of the season.

The Port of Almería has officially commenced its cruise season with the arrival of the luxurious 'Seven Seas Voyager', carrying nearly 700 passengers, signaling the start of a year with 30 scheduled port calls.

The Bahía Almeriport Foundation, in collaboration with the Tourism Department of Almería City Council, has announced the start of the new cruise season at the Port of Almería. On Monday, April 6, the 'Seven Seas Voyager', a high-end vessel, docked in the port, bringing almost 700 travelers. This ship is part of a 64-day itinerary that began on February 12 and will conclude on April 17, 2026, in Rome.
During their stopover in Almería, passengers from the Regent Seven Seas Cruises' 'Seven Seas Voyager' are offered a diverse range of excursions. These include visits to the Alpujarra Almeriense, the city of Almería itself, the tourist enclave of Mojácar, as well as experiences at local wineries and the solar power plant.

"Today, hand in hand with the Bahía Almeriport Foundation and the Port Authority, we begin the cruise season by welcoming this ship to the city. Cruise Tourism is a sector to which the Almería City Council gives priority, investing resources precisely so that it translates into business and increased wealth."

Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca · Councillor for Tourism, Communications and City Promotion
Cruise activity will continue this week with a double call on Saturday, featuring the cruise ships 'Wind Star' and 'Star Flyer'. This dynamic start anticipates a season with a total of 30 scheduled calls. During April, four more ships will be added, leading to a continuous program that includes nine additional calls until September.
Among the calendar's highlights is the return of the 'Renaissance', from the French cruise company, which will call in August and October with approximately 1,300 passengers. The season will extend until December 26, when the ship 'Ambience' will visit the port of Almería for the first time with about 1,400 passengers, concluding what is considered a particularly significant year.
The schedule reflects the confidence of cruise lines that are repeating calls in Almería, such as Regent, Star Clippers, Windstar Cruises, and Marella Cruises, as well as the incorporation of new companies like Vidanta World or Saga Cruise. This growth solidifies Almería as a unique destination on the international cruise map, highlighting the professionalization of the sector and collaboration with the official guides' association to ensure a structured and sustainable tourism offer. The quality and type of vessels, mostly from premium and boutique segments, seeking destinations with their own identity, are the main characteristics of cruise tourism in the region.
