The Almería squad returned to action at the Juegos Mediterráneos annex this Wednesday, following two days of rest. The session was marked by the absence of several key players, who are currently under the supervision of physiotherapists or performing specific gym work.
Among the main concerns are a Brazilian center-back, who finished the last match with physical discomfort, a Ghanaian pivot with knee problems, and a Catalan winger, who suffered a relapse of a right quadriceps injury. The latter's participation in Sunday's derby at 4:15 PM is considered very difficult, while the evolution of the other two players will be crucial in the coming days.
Adding to these doubts is the confirmed absence of a defender, who was sent off in the previous match and is awaiting the duration of his suspension. This could bring the number of absences for the coach to four for the important visit to Granada.
The good news for the team is the return of a Senegalese midfielder, who was absent in the previous round due to suspension. However, this player has accumulated nine yellow cards, meaning another booking against Granada would prevent him from playing against Mirandés on Monday, May 27, at 8:30 PM, completing his second cycle of cautions.
Four other teammates, including a right-back, two Portuguese midfielders, and an Italian center-back, are also in a delicate situation, having already accumulated four yellow cards. The team plans to travel to Granada on Saturday afternoon to concentrate before the match. Fans have shown great interest, selling out the 600 tickets for the away section, with expectations that over a thousand supporters will cheer on Almería in their fight for direct promotion.
