The Local Government Board of the Almería City Council has greenlit the contracting process for the design, supply, assembly, and dismantling of a new monumental entrance for the fairgrounds. This initiative will be one of the main novelties of the upcoming Almería Fair and Festivals 2026.
The new structure, aimed at enhancing the celebration's visual and heritage appeal, will draw inspiration from a significant and easily recognizable building in Almería. The goal is for it to become an identifying element of both the Fair and the city's image.
The project, which includes significant technical and structural requirements, has a base tender budget of 930,006 euros. The contract will be awarded through an open and electronic public tender. The tender announcement will soon be published on the Public Sector Contracting Platform and in the Official Journal of the European Union, with a thirty-day period for offer submission.
This new entrance will replace the current design, which was unveiled in 2017 and inspired by the Central Market. Through this initiative, the council aims to modernize and improve the fair's spaces, opting for a renewed and innovative image that reflects the celebration's importance for the city and its visitors.
