Albox, in Almería, has once again been a gathering point for residents and visitors during Holy Week, solidifying its role as a celebration that unites different generations through faith and tradition.

The municipality experienced intense activity thanks to the efforts of its five brotherhoods, whose selfless dedication keeps local customs alive. The mayor of Albox, María del Mar Alfonso, publicly expressed her gratitude to these fraternities, acknowledging their fundamental role in preserving the shared identity and history of the town.

"Today I want to express my deepest and most sincere gratitude to each of the brotherhoods of our Albox Holy Week. Your tireless dedication, your love for our traditions, and the respect with which you honor every detail, make it possible for these days to be a living reflection of our identity and our shared history. Thank you for moving us, for uniting generations, and for filling our streets with faith, beauty, and sentiment."

The mayor also highlighted the contribution of the Albox Municipal Music Band, whose musical interpretation adds a unique emotional dimension to each event, and praised the work of municipal employees, whose commitment ensured the smooth running of all activities.
Good Friday concentrated some of the most significant moments. In the morning, the Brotherhood of San Juan Evangelista, known as the Paso Colorao, made its solemn procession from the Parish Church of La Concepción, touring the streets of the La Loma neighborhood. In the afternoon, the Brotherhood of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias, the Paso Blanco, departed from the Church of Santa María, carrying Esperanza and Nuestra Señora de las Angustias in procession.
This year, the Paso Blanco was responsible for announcing Albox Holy Week, with Francisco José Castillo Caparrós as lieutenant elder brother and town crier, and Emilio Pastor Pérez as the author of the official poster for 2026. The day culminated with the procession of the Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, the Paso Morao, and an emotional moment during the Primera Levantá, performed by the mayor after the presentation of the Gold Medal of the Villa to the image of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, recently named Sacred Protector of Albox. The procession of La Soledad, carried by women from the municipality, closed the celebration at midnight, emphasizing youth involvement and the camaraderie among brotherhoods.
