The detainees, aged 33 and 42, are suspected of having committed a total of seven continuous thefts. The investigation, initiated in early March after the first complaints, lasted until the end of April, affecting various properties in the municipality.
Agents from the ROCA Team of the Civil Guard in Armilla conducted discreet plainclothes surveillance in the vicinity of the affected areas. Investigations with witnesses helped focus suspicion on two men who frequently visited the locations where the robberies occurred.
Finally, on May 13, one of the suspects was caught by agents while carrying an irrigation key and accessing his plot. During a subsequent search of the property, more irrigation keys and other items related to the thefts were found.
To date, they have been linked to the theft of 97 brass irrigation keys, with an approximate value of 1,753 euros. Brass is a material with high value in the scrap metal market, making it a frequent target for these types of robberies.
The investigations and inquiries conducted have determined the alleged involvement of these two individuals in the continuous thefts under investigation. The detainees have been handed over to the Granada Court of Instruction on duty.
