The municipality of Santa Fe, in the province of Granada, has unveiled the activity schedule for its 2026 Patron Saint Festivals, which will take place from August 26 to August 30 in honor of San Agustín. The festivities will offer a wide array of events designed for all audiences, from children's and sports activities to concerts and cultural performances.
The celebrations will commence on Wednesday, August 26, with the awarding of prizes for local contests and the Pregón Gala at the Instituto de América – Centro Damián Bayón. The day will continue with the Solemn Triduum at the Iglesia La Encarnación, a Trofeo Hispanidad football match at the Complejo Deportivo Las Américas, and a dinner honoring the elderly at the Caseta Municipal.
Thursday, August 27, will feature a live broadcast by RADIO SANTA FE in Plaza de España, parades, the Carocas and Quintillas exhibition on Calle Real, and the Feria de Día (Day Fair) on Paseo del Señor de la Salud. The afternoon will be marked by the San Agustín Festival Football Trophy in the children's and cadet categories, the inauguration of the XXX Exhibition of Local Artists, and the exhibition "A Romantic Stroll Through Granada" at the Instituto de América. The evening will culminate with a videomapping show on the Iglesia de La Encarnación and the burning of El Penas, followed by a concert by La Guardia and DJ Faanfli.
Friday, August 28, will present the XIX Open-Air Painting Contest "Ciudad de Santa Fe", children's theater "Amazin. Envío Express" on Paseo Señor de la Salud, and the Feria de Día with musical performances. In the afternoon, the AQUA-FEST will take place at the Complejo Deportivo Las Américas, and the Monumental Heritage of Santa Fe will be opened. The day will conclude with the Processional Exit in honor of San Agustín and concerts by Los Rebeldes and Festival Amazonia.
Saturday, August 29, will feature activities such as "Dance with me at the Festivals", the III Chess Tournament at the Mercado de Abastos, and the II 4x4 Exhibition at the Recinto Ferial. Younger attendees will enjoy a children's bull run and storytelling, while adults can attend the VIII Classic Car Rally and a magic show. The afternoon will be complemented by the Feria de Día, traditional games, and guided tours of the Historic Center. The evening will include the Grand Prix at the Complejo Deportivo Las Américas and verbenas (street parties) with groups like "Richi y compañía" and "Noches en la Habana", as well as concerts by María Peláe and M80 Live.
Sunday, August 30, the final day of the festivals, will include the Bicycle Day, Bingo Drag with commercial vouchers, and the Feria de Día. In the afternoon, there will be a Grand Children's Party at Parque Rafael Alberti and the Monumental Heritage will be open again. The San Agustín Festival Football Trophy in the youth category and a concert by the Banda de Música Corpus Christi will close the day before the discounted attractions for Children's Day. The festivities will conclude with a parade and a concert by Nuria Fergó and Orquesta Epoka, followed by a fireworks display.
The mayor of Santa Fe, Juan Cobo Ortiz, highlighted in his greeting the importance of these festivals for joy, community, and neighborly reunion, as well as the tradition of burning El Penas. He thanked the work of the Festival Commission, the City Council's Festival Area, the Local Police, Civil Protection, Civil Guard, and other collaborators.
For his part, Rubén Martínez Bermúdez, Councilor for Finance and Economic Management, Festivals, Activities, Youth, and Communication, emphasized the program designed for street enjoyment, the novelty of the videomapping and AQUA-FEST, as well as the Bingo Drag. He expressed his gratitude for the organization of the festivals and the economic consolidation of the municipality, inviting residents to participate and enjoy with joy and respect.
