The Maracena City Council has integrated the Appolo program into its Local Police force to optimize inter-municipal coordination, expedite incident response, and modernize the daily management of the police body.
The mayor of Maracena, Carlos Porcel, highlighted that this incorporation represents "a new step in the modernization of the Local Police and in improving the resources we make available to our officers." He emphasized that "technology must help us provide a faster, more coordinated, and effective response to the needs of the citizenry."
Appolo will facilitate connection with other Local Police headquarters already using the system, such as those in Armilla, Albolote, Churriana de la Vega, Motril, Almuñécar, and Salobreña. This integration will enable the sharing of alerts and police-related information, as well as reinforce coordination in joint operations.
The platform includes a traffic control module with license plate recognition via fixed and mobile cameras, cameras in police vehicles, and mobile devices. Detected irregularities will be sent in real-time to the police management program and the officers' mobile application.
The system also establishes direct communication with the 112 emergency service and allows officers to generate and consult reports, service logs, and official statements, in addition to accessing information on vehicles, individuals, and commercial establishments.
Officers will be able to consult alerts and data from devices installed in police vehicles, thereby reducing response times.
The head of the Maracena Local Police, Manuel Sánchez, explained that Appolo "will allow us to centralize information and have it in real-time, both from police vehicles and from the officers' mobile devices." He added that this "will facilitate patrol coordination, speed up incident management, and allow us to organize human resources much more efficiently."
The platform will also improve the management of services, shifts, and internal communications, aligning with the digitalization of the Local Police and the enhancement of citizen security resources.
