The Granada municipality of Las Gabias has presented its program for the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities, which will take place from July 30 to August 5. The City Council has organized a series of events designed for the enjoyment of all audiences, combining cultural, sports, children's activities, and religious ceremonies.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, July 30, with the inauguration of an exhibition at the Casa García Benavente y Pisa, which can be visited until August 4. That same evening, the Patio del Torreón will host the performance of the Coro Matices In Crescendo. The fairgrounds will offer reduced prices during the night.
On Friday, July 31, the Plaza de España will be the setting for the opening speech of the festivities by the Chirigota Las SuperWoman, with the collaboration of Katho Percussion. Afterwards, the official lighting of the fairgrounds will take place, followed by a concert by Carlos Baute and a DJ session.
The weekend kicks off on Saturday, August 1, with a large aquatic party at the Sports Facilities, followed by the traditional Fuente del Vino in the Plaza del Fuerte with music by Dj Carlos Carrillo. The evening will feature a concert by Joana Jiménez and a seniors' festival in the Plaza de España, enlivened by the Orquesta Maxims.
On Sunday, August 2, the day will start with chocolate with churros at the Sports Facilities, followed by an aquatic games fair. In the afternoon, music will fill the town's bars with Charangueando. The night will be marked by performances by Coros y Danzas de Granada, the seniors' festival in the Plaza de España, and a concert by Pitingo.
On Monday, August 3, a gastronomic contest will be held at the Torreón and a petanque tournament at Parque El Sotillo. The evening will be dedicated to families with workshops, sing-alongs, and a magic show by magician Antonio, culminating with the orchestra Vintash.
On Tuesday, August 4, the Sports Facilities will host the Grand Prix by teams “Villa Europea del Deporte”. The Plaza de España will come alive with a concert by the Escuela de Música y Danza Las Gabias performing great hits from Eurovision. The night will include a serenade in honor of the Virgen de las Nieves and a concert by La Húngara.
The festivities will conclude on Wednesday, August 5, with the Rosario de la Aurora and the Solemn Mass in honor of Nuestra Señora de las Nieves Coronada at the Parish Church of La Encarnación. The solemn procession and a fireworks display will precede the closing of the festivities with a performance by La Tentación.
The mayor, María Merinda Sádaba, has highlighted the importance of these festivities for the town's identity and unity, inviting residents and visitors to enjoy the celebration responsibly and with respect.
