In a recent meeting, Minister Rocío Díaz met with Antonio Narváez, mayor of Churriana de la Vega, and Merinda Sádaba, mayor of Las Gabias. The primary objective was to establish the necessary procedures for the launch of the metro service extension.
According to sources from the Junta de Andalucía, this collaboration between the regional administration and local councils will be formalized in an upcoming agreement. This accord aims to ensure a smooth and efficient integration of the new sections into the existing Granada Metro network.
It is worth noting that the Granada Metro successfully completed connection tests at the end of March. These tests verified the correct link between the already operational infrastructure and the section under construction heading towards Churriana de la Vega and Las Gabias.
During a technical visit to the works, Minister Díaz, accompanied by the municipal leaders, witnessed the final mobile test. A train operated without incident between the San Cayetano and La Paz stops, both located in Churriana de la Vega, confirming the project's feasibility.
