The Science Park is preparing to host one of the most significant astronomical events of recent decades on August 12, 2026: a total solar eclipse.

The Science Park has organized a special program to follow the development of the eclipse, the first of the so-called Eclipse Trio (2026-2028), which will make Spain a privileged stage for observing this phenomenon.
The activity will allow attendees to follow the eclipse's evolution through live broadcasts and images captured from the path of totality, provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) from the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory (Teruel), as well as connections with other observatories and outreach centers.
Due to the terrain's orography and existing buildings, it will not be possible to observe the full eclipse from the museum's facilities. The activity will focus on the initial phases and tracking the live-streamed images from locations where the phenomenon's totality is visible.
The event will take place between 6:30 PM and 9:30 PM in various designated spaces, including the Auditorium of the Pendulum building, the Planetarium, Plaza Curie, and the terraces of the Astronomical Observatory and the Observation Tower's first floor.
The activity is free with a limited capacity of 160 people. Prior reservation will be required and will be open from July 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM until August 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM, or until capacity is reached.
Access will be on foot through the Pendulum building. This building's parking will be closed, and use of the Macroscopio building's parking is recommended, with the last entry at 6:30 PM.
The Vía Láctea cafeteria will remain open during the event.
